演讲人简介：

美国德克萨斯大学教授，University of Georgia管理科学与信息技术博士，香港中文大学硕士。研究领域包括：多准则决策，特别是多目标规划、网络优化、组合优化，特别是启发式求解、数学规划方法用于回归、判别与聚类分析、大数据分析等。

在Management Science, Operations Research, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Transportation Science, Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, Annals of Operations Research等国际顶级期刊上发表论文数十篇。

获奖包括Decision Sciences Institute Elwood S. Buffa Doctoral Dissertation Competition Award, Decision Sciences Institute Best Theoretical/ Empirical Research Paper Award以及德克萨斯大学System Chancellor’s Council Outstanding Teaching Award。

演讲内容简介：

Technical writing in English is perceived to be difficult especially by non-English speakers. However, the difficult parts are the research behind the article and the structure and organization of the article rather than the language. Technical articles supported by solid research can always be published. Motivations for research and technical writing are discussed. The structure and organization of a technical article are emphasized. The major sections in a technical paper are outlined. Cautions and caveats are mentioned. Some techniques in word processing are also presented.
